The moment you were conceived, you were thrust into a battle for your immortal soul. When you were born, you were born into a war zone. When you were baptized, you were fitted with combat boots. You also, in that precise moment, became a child of God and an enemy of Satan.

 

You may be saying to yourself, "but I didn't sign up for this. I don't want to do battle, I'm not a fighter". Welcome to the Church Militant! By virtue of your baptism you are a soldier, and you are either a soldier of and for Christ, or you are a soldier against Him. Far too many people are unclear about their proper role in spiritual warfare. They remain uncertain about the power and authority they possess by virtue of their baptism.

More and more Catholics are experiencing the effect of Satan's influence in our world, on our culture and in their own families. It is largely due to the collective ignorance and apathy of the people of God - and the efforts of the demons - that so many within the Church would prefer to not speak of the reality of Satan and the necessity of spiritual warfare. Ignorance and apathy lead to discomfort and fear.
